Designers

The Free Will Players Theatre Guild (FWP) was formed in 1989 by a group of theatre artists in a truly co-operative spirit with the mandate to make the works of William Shakespeare accessible. The company runs the Freewill Shakespeare Festival, a professional summer theatre festival.

DETAILS

Most seasons, we stage two productions and many special events. Since our usual venue is closed for renovations, we will most likely be producing one play (yet to be announced), and it will be outdoors, uncovered and in a park. Freewill has often hired one designer to do both set and costumes and one designer to do sound, but this year we are open to hiring three designers for each element (set, costume, sound). In your application, please indicate what element you are interested in. If you have previously worked for us, send us a letter of interest and indicate that you are available for the dates listed below.

ETHNOCULTURAL STATEMENT

The Freewill Shakespeare Festival is located in amiskwaciwâskahikan ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (Edmonton, AB), and we are proud to call Treaty 6 territory home. This commitment is shared by all of our Board members, staff and volunteers. Therefore, we strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates and especially those who identify as belonging to an underrepresented community.
