Apply to join Free Will Players Theatre Guild Board of Directors

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many unforeseen challenges for not for profit theatre companies in Edmonton, but the strength and commitment of Free Will Players Board of Directors and management, and the continued support of our donors, granting bodies and sponsors, have allowed us to continue planning for our Freewill Shakespeare Festival in 2021.

Perhaps now is the time when you would like to exercise your business skills and love of live theatre and give back to the community?

Free Will Players Board of Directors is seeking your expertise to help build and strengthen the mandate of FWP: making Shakespeare accessible and affordable to the Edmonton community regardless of age, ability, education or income.

FWP is a professional award-winning theatre company operating under the aegis of Equity and the ITA and providing contemporary, innovative productions of William Shakespeare’s plays. We are actively pursuing initiatives to reflect the diverse community which we serve. We are also looking at creating a mentorship program and even diversifying our play offerings. We receive grants from all three levels of government and rely on our sponsors, donors and volunteers to help us create entertaining theatre in the summer.

The Board of Directors works with our Managing Director and Artistic Director to oversee the development of the strategic plan and serve on several different committees.
