Board of Directors Needs You! 

 

During the uncertain times that the renovations and closure of Hawrelak Park have created, the Free Will Players Board of Directors and management continue planning for our annual Freewill Shakespeare Festival.

 

Now is the time for you to exercise your business skills and love of live theatre and give back to the community! Free Will Players is seeking your expertise to help build and strengthen our mandate: making Shakespeare accessible and affordable to the Edmonton community regardless of age, ability, education or income. 

 

While certain specific skills are always welcome, we are also seeking members who are enthusiastic, energetic and simply looking to help out the festival. Some of the areas that a new member may have experience in could be:

Skills we are seeking:

• Management

• Finance

• Human resources

• Fund raising

• Governance

 

Attributes you possess:

• Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of The Free Will Players Theatre Guild

• Time for board/committee meetings and activities

• Creative thinkers

 

Prerequisites:

• 18 years of age or older

• Enthusiasm for theatre

 

Please include the following in your application:

• Cover Letter: briefly tell us why you’re applying to serve on the FWP Board of Directors, and what contribution you can make to our dedicated team.

• A resume highlighting your experience and qualifications including:

  • Business/work/volunteer experience that aligns with any of the areas of expertise we are seeking.

  • Previous board experience

  • Previous community and/or volunteer activities
