The Free Will Players Theatre Guild Board of Directors Needs You! 

Despite the uncertainty that the upcoming renovations and closure of Hawrelak Park has created, the Free Will Players Board of Directors and management continue planning for our Freewill Shakespeare Festival.

Now is the time for you to exercise your business skills and love of live theatre and give back to the community! Free Will Players is seeking your expertise to help build and strengthen our mandate: making Shakespeare accessible and affordable to the Edmonton community regardless of age, ability, education or income.
 


Skills we are seeking:

  • Senior management experience leading people, strategy, and transformative change.

  • Finance and accounting experience, along with a CPA designation.

  • Human resources or labour relations experience.

  • Legal experience, ideally in the areas of media regulation and/or contracts.

  • Fund development or donor relations experience.

  • Marketing background for not for profit 

  • Strong governance experience in a corporate or not-for-profit environment

  • Board experience as a committee member and/or chair.

 

Attributes you possess:

  • A demonstrated commitment to actively promote the vision, mission, and values, of The Free Will Players Theatre Guild;

  • Willingness and time available to participate in board, committee meetings and activities;

  • Critical and creative thinkers.

  • The board is looking for diverse voices and perspectives that represent a diversity of ethnicity, gender, ability, and age.

 

Prerequisites:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Enthusiasm for theatre

  • A resume highlighting your experience and qualifications including:

    • Business/work/volunteer experience that aligns with any of the areas of expertise we are seeking.

    • Previous board experience

    • Previous community and/or volunteer activities
